Ann Romney All American Style - Obama - Not Always

Let's face it - our financial situation in the US is dismal...but the Obamas just keep spending stupid money. Michelle on her ridiculously expensive sartorial choices, like the $6800 jacket that she wore at the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games. At least it was US made by J.Mendel - but can she try to tone it down a bit? It starts at the top - Obama prints money, Michelle spends money - what leadership!

J.Mendel - Great Jacket not great timing

I find Ann Romney's fashion message to be refreshing, understated and with true modern grace. Let's compare the 2 and vote on who you think has the most real style and grace....

Romneys and Walesa

Classic American Style - American Designers - YES!

Walk like a lady? Much?
Did someone say dessert?
I don't get all the hype about Michelle's great arms...

These arms are worth talking about

Our choice of what we wear, bears great consequence on how we are perceived. If you're going to be in the public eye, put your thinking cap on first, and then decide what you're going to wear that day

The color green - the history of a superstition

Did you know that the wearing the color green is superstitious for actors? I did not - until doing a little research. It all began with Moliere...his real name: Jena-Baptiste Poquelin. He was a successful actor in the early 20's - and became famous with Tartuffe....mocking the church - his community was not happy. He went on to much further notoriety...During a performance before Louis XIV, he performed through illness, eventually collapsing suffering a hemorrhage. Hours later he died, in costume wearing green - which lead to this superstition...this is much more romantic the origins of the expression "Green with Envy"   which the Greeks believed that jealousy was accompanied by an overproduction of the boile, lending a yellowish-green pallor to a victim's complexion.

Great style lives on - Azzedine Alaia

Azzedine Alaia was born in 1939 - who knew? He is still so relevant....which is exactly the point of this post. It's not age, it's relevance that matters...

Inspired by his glamourous sister, and educated at L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Tunis, ha actually began studying sculpture, which gave him the understanding of the human form. He is a genius....

He remains one of the few designers, who has not sold his soul, and his distribution is in the best stores globally. In the U.S. his beautiful creations can be found at Barney's, Mary Jane Denzer, Ikram and 4510.

Saying Goodbye to Old Friends....

One of my favorite pair of shoes, was a purchase made at least 10 years ago....and they are still relevant today. After a recent move, where my husband relentlessly criticized me for having too many clothes, shoes and bags, I decided that less is more. Or at least I should get rid of shoes and clothes that no longer fit! These were always a bit too snug, which is why they were only worn twice. One thing is for sure, you can lose weight, but our feet NEVER get smaller - shame, but it's the other way around...

Here they are - my prized Bottega Veneta Iconic Woven Pumps - yes they should live on forever - branding Eternal Chic - however, they will be living in someone's else's closet, and hopefully enjoyed.

They are on eBay - here's the link:

As they say on Ebay - Good Luck - Have fun bidding :-)

Wild Tees

A new way to wear animal prints! How funny is this? There is a gorilla, a couple of kitties, guinea pigs - there's a shark - they're really fun.....

I found them on the new auction site FAB and they're only $11 and $14 !!!:

I loved this one - a must have for the equestrian!
